Dresdner Essenz

Dresdner Essenz is a well-known German brand specializing in bath and body care products.The Dreckspatz series is their playful childrens line colorful, friendly, and designed to make bath time fun.During my time at the agency kakoii Berlin, I worked on the packaging design for this product line as well as the visual redesign of their Shopify online shop. The goal was to create a child-friendly look that feels energetic, joyful, and instantly recognizable on the shelf.

Design Approach & Challenges

Designing for children required a balance between playfulness, clarity, and strong visual storytelling. Each sachet features a cheerful “Dreckspatz” character paired with bold, expressive colors that match the corresponding scent — for example: • raspberry → bright red • lavender → purple tones • mandarine → warm orange • lemon → fresh yellow • melon → green accents The key visuals were decorated with elements such as bubbles, foam, fruits, herbs, and scented ingredients to connect the packaging directly with the product experience. The challenge was to make every sachet unique while keeping the overall series consistent and instantly identifiable. In addition to the packaging design, I helped redesign the entire Shopify online store. This included: • creating seasonal and thematic header banners • visual staging of products (e.g., “Kaminstunde” theme with warm autumn colors and wooden textures) • building product mockups • organizing categories and product data • updating content, ingredients, and imagery The goal was to build a warm, emotional, and cohesive digital experience that matched the playful energy of the Dreckspatz line.

Result

The campaign was designed for visibility across all internal touchpoints: posters, roll-ups, display screens, merchandise assets like pens and bottles, and digital communication channels. Each medium featured a clear call-to-action and, where appropriate, an integrated QR code to make participation intuitive and immediate. By combining a strong visual identity with a friendly tone and consistent reminders throughout the workplace, the campaign successfully turned a mandatory task into an engaging company-wide experience.
