IDS Imaging Development Systems is a leading manufacturer of industrial cameras and machine-vision technology.The project focused on redesigning the company’s entire corporate website — a platform with an extensive product catalogue, numerous subpages, and complex technical specifications.The goal was to modernize the digital presence, create a clearer navigation structure, and make it easier for customers to find the right camera for their specific industry needs.
Design Approach
The full website was designed from the ground up in InVision (pre-Figma era), including desktop, tablet, and mobile viewports. A new, clean typographic system and updated visual structure were developed to give the interface a contemporary look while keeping the technical information readable and accessible. The redesign refined: • product detail pages • category overviews for different camera families • specification tables • functional illustrations • user flows for filtering and comparison In addition to the digital redesign, a comprehensive corporate brochure was created — including product families, leadership insights, factory robotics, and machine-vision capabilities. All content was adapted into several languages for international trade fairs and global distribution.
Complexity & Challenges
The main challenge was managing the sheer depth and volume of content. Dozens of product pages, feature descriptions, and data-heavy layouts had to be translated into a visually clear and intuitive interface — without losing the technical precision industrial customers rely on. Ensuring consistency across web layouts, print brochures, and multilingual versions required a structured design system and close collaboration with internal specialists.
